'Any novel that’s really contemporary is incredibly dated.'
Tom McCarthy, creator of the International Necronautical Society, joined us at the Bookshop to read from and talk about his latest novel Satin Island. U. is a corporate anthropologist, is employed by government and big business to decode and manipulate the world of information. What, he wonders, might link African traffic jams with roller-blade processions and zombie parades? And how might they relate to Cargo Cults or dead parachutists? McCarthy was in conversation with Nick Lezard of the Guardian.
Satin Island is available as a Limited First Edition. Order here.
