London Review Bookshop

Beautifully shot and with stunning performances from its young cast, Deniz Gamze Ergüven's Oscar-nominated 'Mustang' is both a rousing tale of spirited youth and a powerful, moving and timely work of engaging social cinema.

‘Mustang’ follows Lale and her four sisters in their rural Turkish village. After a misunderstanding with some local boys, their home becomes a prison enforced by concerned family members. They now live only for the hope of arranged marriages and their family honour. But together, driven by strength, courage and a desire for freedom, the five sisters fight back against the limits imposed on them and test their family ties to breaking point.

The film will be introduced by Heather McIntosh, Programming and Acquisitions Executive for Curzon Home Cinema.

Refreshments will be served before the screening.
