Join us for a special screening of Alain Tanner and John Berger's 1976 collaboration, Jonah Who Will Be 25 in the Year 2000.

In what director Alain Tanner described as 'a dramatic tragicomedy in political science fiction', eight characters find themselves drawn together, through circumstance, coincidence and necessity: a Trotskyist journalist, an anarchic shopgirl, a transcendental mysticist, an educationalist and a rural labourer and his wife, pregnant with the Jonah of the title - all trying, in different ways, to maintain the ideals of May 1968.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Tom Overton, Berger's editor and biographer, and the evening will be hosted by Gareth Evans, film curator at the Whitechapel Gallery.
