A sensitive, interior film, with all the restorative power that Freud must have hoped for. – Time Out
Film-maker, writer and anthropologist Hugh Brody presents his acclaimed 1984 drama, co-written with Michael Ignatieff, about two former patients of Sigmund Freud (Paul Scofield and Maria Schell) who meet again and reflect on their treatment 65 years earlier. Brody will be in conversation alongside the film's editor David Gladwell (If...; Ways of Seeing) after the screening. The evening is hosted by Gareth Evans.
