Merry Christmas from all at the Bookshop

Posted by the Bookshop

'Christmas time! That man must be a misanthrope indeed, in whose breast something like a jovial feeling is not roused – in whose mind some pleasant associations are not awakened – by the recurrence of Christmas.'

It's been a busy few weeks here at the Bookshop, but we wouldn't have had it any other way. Thanks to those who stayed up late helping us make Christmas decorations; thanks to those who stopped by the Cake Shop for a mince pie; thanks to those who asked for advice about Christmas presents; and thanks to all of you who came to our Customer Evenings to drink a cup of festive cheer with us. It wouldn't have felt like Christmas without you.

We know we're all hoping to unwrap plenty of books this morning. Gayle's dreaming of spending a lazy afternoon tracing her way through New Orleans, and John's planning to read J. Robert Lennon while the turkey broils. But we'd love to know which books you received for Christmas. What will you be leafing through this Boxing Day afternoon? Let us know in the comments or on Facebook – or tweet us at @LRBbookshop.
