Writer and critic Adam Mars-Jones was born in London in 1954. Mars-Jones is a regular contributor to The Guardian, The Observer, The Times Literary Supplement, and BBC Television's Newsnight Review, and the London Review of Books.
He was educated at Westminster and Cambridge. His novels include Pilcrow (2018) and Cedilla (2011) published by Faber & Faber (2011), Adam's latest non fiction work, Noriko Smiling (Notting Hill Editions, 2011), focuses on Yasujiro Ozu, a master of Japanese cinema. His latest book is a memoir: Kid Gloves: A Voyage Round My Father published by Particular books in August 2015
