Andrew Motion

Andrew Motion is a poet, author and scholar. He was Poet Laureate for the United Kingdom from 1999 until 2009. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, and was knighted for his services to literature in 2009.

He has taught English at the University of Hull, and worked as an editor at Chatto and Windus and for the Poetry Review. He is currently Professor of Creative Writing at Royal Holloway, University of London.

His new collection of poems is The Cinder Path (Faber) and Ways of Life: Places, Painters and Poets (Faber) is his latest collection of essays.
