Philip Hoare
Philip Hoare (born 1958, Southampton) is a writer, curator and broadcaster. He is the author of seven works of non-fiction, including Leviathan or, The Whale which won the 2009 BBC Samuel Johnson Prize. His new book, RISINGTIDEFALLINGSTAR, will be published later this year. Hoare is professor of creative writing at the University of Southampton, and co-curator, with Angela Cockayne, of the Moby Dick Big Read.
