“cancer is so quotidian”: Poems from Lieke Marsman

Posted by John Clegg

Lieke Marsman's collection The Following Scan Will Last Five Minutes (Pavilion Press), translated from the Dutch by Sophie Collins, is one of the most anticipated collections of the year: poems written in the months following her cancer diagnosis. The London Review of Books was proud to publish three poems from the collection in the issue of 21 March issue: they can be read here. Also of interest is this marvellous long essay on translation by Sophie Collins and Jen Calleja, published in Asymptote Journal.

Marsman, Collins and Emily Berry will be in conversation at the shop on Friday 3 May.
