Lunchtime Euros: Sunder Katwala and Jude Wanga on England v. Croatia

Throughout Euro 2020, we’ll be hosting short online conversations about one of the day’s (or the previous day’s, or the next day’s) matches, at 1 p.m.: a bit of history, geopolitics, literature, but mostly just football.

On the day after the tournament’s first weekend, Sunder Katwala, director of British Future – which has just published research into the role football can play in creating an inclusive English identity – will discuss England v. Croatia, taking the knee, and Euro 2020’s opening matches with the New Socialist’s Jude Wanga, who writes about football and politics for the LRB blog.
