Jarvis Cocker with Jon McGregor

In 2011 Faber published, in the prestigious Faber Poetry livery, Mother, Brother, Lover, the selected lyrics of Jarvis Cocker. As front-man for Pulp, Jarvis Cocker became one of the figureheads of 90s Britpop, and his lyrics have been described by Daniel Finn on the LRB blog as ‘both anthemic and cerebral’.

To mark the publication of the paperback edition of Mother, Brother, Lover, Jarvis Cocker joined us at the shop for a conversation with the novelist Jon McGregor, a long-time admirer, who admitted in the Guardian’s ‘My Hero’ column that ‘Cocker’s lyrics were what made me want to tell stories’.
