Artemis Cooper

Artemis Cooper is a writer and editor. For years she worked on the official biography of Patrick Leigh Fermor, spending many hours in conversation with Leigh Fermor and his closest friends. This collaboration resulted not only in the acclaimed Patrick Leigh-Fermor: An Adventure, but also in two books of his writings, The Words of Mercury and The Broken Road.

Her other work includes Cairo in the War, 1939–1945; Writing at the Kitchen Table: The Authorized Biography of Elizabeth David and Paris After the Liberation, 1944–1949, the latter co-written with the historian Antony Beevor.
