From the publisher

In 2009 writer John Berger visited Le Corbusier's pilgrimage chapel at Ronchamp in eastern France. His companions on the trip were Sr. Lucia Kuppens and Sr. Telchilde Hinckley, two Benedictine nuns from Connecticut, and artist John Christie.
Their journey together was a kind of pilgrimage, both spiritual and architectural, and this book records their experiences and conversations at Ronchamp and the lasting impact this remarkable building and its architect Le Corbusier had on the four of them.
Writer Teju Cole contributes an illuminating text reflecting on pilgrimage and place.
Architect Paul Clarke analyses the group's discussions in the light of Ronchamp itself and brings the story of the Chapel up to date in its 70th anniversary year.
